Karl Grafton See – October 2, 1970-September 9, 2022

Karl Grafton See, consummate Pemi boy, counselor, and lifelong friend, has died in Duxbury, MA of cardiac arrest.

Karl See

Karl was born on October 2, 1970 in Brunswick, ME and raised in Duxbury, attending Duxbury schools. He graduated from The College of Wooster and delighted in modeling with gusto each letter of the Wooster song in the Pemi Messhall.  He lived and breathed Pemi as part of a four generation Pemi family and was constantly invoking Pemi memories, traditions, and songs. His energy and sense of humor radiated from his first days in Junior 4, through G&S, and to a seat at the esteemed Bean Soup editors’ table. He absolutely inhaled every Pemi Reunion and celebrated many October birthdays climbing a mountain and taking a polar bear in Lower Baker with brother Zach and dad Sandy. He leaves them, mom Emmy, daughter Kay, and Zach’s wife Alison and their children Edgar and Marlena along with lots of adoring relatives.

Karl had a fulfilling career as a development officer with non-profits including Earthwatch, the New England Aquarium, the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Conservation Law Foundation.

A celebration of Karl’s life will be held on a future date. Karl’s family is grateful for any contributions in Karl’s name to the Fred Rittner Pemi Campership Fund. Donations can be made via their website. Checks made out to the fund can be sent to Bob Zock at 98 Birch Hill Road, Warner, NH, 03278, with “In Memory of Karl See” in the memo section.
