16s Program

2021 Pemi 16s!

Please read Pemi, Covid-19, and 2021
for updates on our preparation and response to the pandemic.

16s Program – Pemi Time & Wilderness Adventure

The first phase of the program will be two weeks at Pemi, enjoying the camaraderie, activities, and traditions that you’ve come to know and love. Instead of weekly occupations, your mornings will involve working together in service learning initiatives. While this might include opportunities beyond the Pemi campus, we know that creating a self-contained community could be required due to COVID-19. If so, that has its benefits! You will work side-by-side with Reed Harrigan, Charlie Malcolm, and Nick to launch building projects that have been waiting for just the right time and circumstances, such as designing and establishing a trail system on Pemi grounds, constructing a 2nd Pemi Shelter, and other efforts that will serve the Pemi community for years to come. In the afternoons and evenings, you’ll be at Pemi enjoying the classic activities and traditions of camp life.

Wilderness Adventure: Surf and Turf

Following two weeks at camp, we’ll head up to Monson, Maine to begin the three week Wilderness Adventure phase program as we take on the 100-Mile Wilderness, Mt. Katahdin, and the Allagash Wilderness Waterway. This adventure will be modeled in the spirit of past excursions, focusing on leadership, self-challenge, and discovery. The surf and turf elements of this expedition allow you to enjoy two different outdoor experiences, geographically close to Pemi, but a world away from what you’ve experienced before. (Trip leaders: Nick Davini and a surprise guest guide of Pemi legend!)

Add-On Option – Counselor Apprentice Program

The final phase of the 16s Program will be back at Pemi for those interested in serving as a Counselor Apprentice. This behind the scenes look at what life is like as a staff member at Pemi is incredibly rewarding. It gives you the immediate opportunity to put newly acquired leadership skills to good use and positions you well for what we hope will be the next phase of your Pemi career when you join us as our colleagues on staff.
