Due to COVID-19, travel and Arrival Day will be a little different for summer 2021!

We will continue to update this page and provide critical information via timely communications to parents of enrolled campers over the coming months. Arrival Day and Getting to Camp

Due to COVID-19, all campers must arrive by car accompanied by a parent or guardian. We anticipate asking parents to sign up for a schedule of staggered arrival times to facilitate testing needs and intake screening. Stay tuned for details.

Pemi is a 1.5 hour drive by car from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) and 2.5 hours by car from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). For directions, please see Driving and Directions.

We anticipate parents/guardians will need to remain inside their vehicle for the entirety of the drop-off, and must be available to return to camp until we confirm that your son’s arrival day test results are negative. Should a boy test positive for COVID-19 on arrival day or at any time during the season, we will require pick-up within 24-hours by a parent or guardian.

In order to establish and maintain our “bubble,” we will be unable to offer restrooms or our traditional reception to parents/guardians on arrival day. In addition, we will be unable to accommodate late arrivals or mid-season time away. Visitors and the coming and going of camp staff will be limited. Chances are strong that there will be no parent visiting days for parents of Full Session boys. Don’t worry – if you can’t visit your son, we’ll find other ways for you to connect!

Notes of Interest for Arrival Day

  • We will require documentation of a negative PCR test taken within 3-5 days of arrival.
  • Prior to arrival day, please do everything you can to help your child follow a 10-day “minimization-of-risk period” outside of any school obligations, avoiding close contact with people outside of your household, and following CDC recommended behaviors: good hand washing, wearing face coverings while around others, and daily monitoring of health.
  • Pre-camp “isolation” will be critical to the success of establishing our “bubble.”

Departure Day

Stay tuned! As the covid situation continues to evolve, we hope to be able to offer chaperoned Pemi transportation from camp, including shuttles to Boston or Manchester Airports, or our traditional chartered bus (August 14 only; no mid-season bus) to Stamford, CT and NYC.

We will continue to update this page and provide critical information with timely communications to parents of enrolled campers over the coming months.

We’d like to remind you that tipping of counselors is not done at Pemigewassett (including gift cards). The best way to express your appreciation for a counselor’s care and hard work is a friendly conversation and a warm handshake, or consider a donation to the scholarship fund in his honor.
