Special Events

Within a short time after you arrive you’ll find yourself in a comfortable routine, enjoying the weekly schedule that you’ve created and the daily offerings that you’ve chosen among. But camp is made extra special by traditional, much-anticipated events that round out the season.

Special Event Traditions

4th of July festivities!
Parade, counselor hunt, cookout…will there be fireworks?

Big Buddy / Little Buddy Campfires
Every camper in the Junior Division is matched with a Senior camper.

Sports Days
Saturdays often feature competitions in various sports with another camp—or tournaments with several camps—hosted either at home or away.

Birthday Banquet
Celebrate all summer birthdays with a spectacular meal, topped off with a birthday cake for each and every table and a custom limerick for each of the celebrants. On a birthday boy’s actual birthday, the whole community celebrates with a cheer and by bellowing out a countdown from the boy’s new age, leading to him having the honor of ringing the closing bell in the mess hall!

Full-Season Camper Extravaganza Day
Designed especially for our approximately 85 7-week campers! With a trip to the water park, grilled steaks on the beach, a feature movie, and homemade donuts and hot chocolate, it’s a wonderful day for our Full Session boys.

Pemi Week
The final week of camp when every day is different – Games Day, Pentathlon, Swim Championships, Woods Dude’s Day, and much more…

Vaudeville
A cross between a talent show, comedy presentation, and music explosion.

End-of-Year Art Show
Where the creative efforts of campers and staff are celebrated in style

Gilbert & Sullivan performances
A tradition of well over 60 years, with two evening performances in the final week of camp. Not your ordinary camp play.

Final Banquet
Celebrate all the summer’s accomplishments in this time-honored night of meaningful awards that bring thunderous applause whenever each winner’s name is announced.
