From pure fun-in-the-sun activities to competitive training time, Pemi’s lake is ideal for waterskiing, paddling, sailing, and swimming. Most importantly, we are the sole residents of our lake. This ensures both safety and privacy for our campers and staff. No party boats or jet skis interfering with water activities!
Summer camp water sports
Professionally installed slalom course
Pemi has a professionally installed slalom course and a brand-new, custom built Malibu ski boat.
Instruction from beginner to advanced
Instruction in all water sports is available from beginner to advanced levels. For instance, new water-skiers gain confidence by starting out on the boom, advancing to the boom rope, then taking their skills behind the boat.
Safety dock system
The “U-shaped” dock system encloses four 25-yard swim lanes. This creates optimal swimming conditions and provides direct access for focused, personalized instruction.
Open water "distance swim"
In order to take vessels out solo, campers complete a ½ mile swim in open water under the watchful eye of two counselors in an accompanying rowboat. Boys who “swim their distance” earn a cheer in the messhall!
Free time exploration
Kayaking or canoeing with a buddy is an ideal way to spend a summer afternoon. Explore the “lower lake” to see herons, loons, and other wildlife.
Lifelong skills and enjoyment
Pemi’s excellent swim instructors can certify campers in American Red Cross levels of achievement.
