2024 Newsletter #6

Today’s newsletter comes from Charlie Malcolm, assistant director, long-time athletic director, and coach of many of our soccer and baseball teams. Enjoy! Over the last thirty-plus summers, I’ve provided a recap of our Tecumseh Day each year with a different thematic lens. Over the years, we’ve explored the day through photos, the day of a […]
2024 Newsletter #4

Hello from Pemi! A quick note if you’re just now starting to read these newsletters for the summer: they’re typically posted on Tuesday or Wednesday, and all photos can be enlarged by clicking on them to see the full-sized image. Today’s newsletter comes right at the midway point of the 2024 summer. On Saturday we […]
2024 Newsletter #2

Greetings from Wentworth! While this is somehow only the second newsletter of the 2024 summer, it feels like everyone in camp is a years-long veteran already. The boys are fully into the rhythm of life at Pemi – they’ve formed bonds with their cabinmates, they run around camp as if they’ve been here forever, and […]

Pemi Hut Trips: Part Two

If you missed Part One of our hut trip series, focused on Greenleaf Hut, here you go! It’s tough to find better than Greenleaf and the Franconia Ridge, but the trips undertaken by our Seniors to Lakes of the Clouds and Madison Spring Huts might just accomplish that impressive feat. These two huts stand abreast […]

The last few days have seen us finish up our regular weekly activities, conclude the trip and athletics season, and transition into Pemi Week – our week of inter-cabin competition and games. It’s in full […]
Defining Photos of 2022

As 2022 draws to a close and winter begins to rear its head in earnest across much of the United States, we want to take a look back at some of the defining photos from an incredible summer! Pemi’s 115th summer will be remembered for many different reasons by many different people, so the offerings […]
Frank Roberts: New Head of Buildings and Grounds

It is my pleasure to share with the Pemi community that Frank Roberts is Pemi’s new Head of Buildings and Grounds!
2021 16’s Expedition

This summer a group of Pemi’s 16-year-olds returned to Camp for a special version of the Pemi 16s/Pemi West trip. While this trip has historically taken the boys out west and into new territory compared to their previous Pemi summers, the Covid-induced cancellation of the 2020 summer led to the creation of a unique opportunity […]
Pemi Counselor Internship Initiative

In the fall of 2018, Pemi identified an emerging challenge and started to brainstorm. Increasingly, our best staff members were finding it difficult to return for that third or fourth season, the one where their wisdom and experience make a huge difference for the Pemi community. Instead, in this intensely competitive national work climate, they […]
Pemi 101 – The Pemi Hill Shelter

The Pemi Hill Shelter is an Adirondack-style structure that sits on Pemi’s property roughly two-thirds of a mile above the Junior Camp. This shelter provides cover overhead and is walled on three sides to protect occupants from the elements. Ten yards from the open side of the building, which faces eastward, is a campfire circle […]
Pemi 101 – What’s a BVT?
