Larry has been a staff member at Pemi for over 45 years and has served on the American Camping Association’s Children and Nature Committee. He recently retired from his “regular” job as Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of New Haven where he headed the Environmental Sciences Undergraduate program. A geologist with a special interest in minerals, glacial features, and caves, Larry has been chair of the Geological Society of America’s Geology and Society Division. On the “side” he loves to tell Maine stories as his alter ego “Orrin Tuckah” and play the flute. He has a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from the University of Rochester.
