Camp Pemigewassett’s greatest asset has always been the remarkable staff that dedicates itself, each summer, to making the Pemi experience rich, unique, and nurturing for each boy. While each summer we embrace the energy and enthusiasm brought by new staff members, the vast majority has years and years (and in some cases, years and years and years!) of experience on the shores of Lower Baker. Parents never fail to remark on the staff’s dedication, work ethic, and multitudinous talents.
For both returning and new staff members, Pemi fully complies with American Camp Association standards, which require staff screening (including the use of application forms, reference checks, personal interviews, work history reviews, and comprehensive background checks), staff training (including educating camp staff regarding child abuse prevention, behavior management techniques, procedures for nighttime supervision, safety regulations, teaching strategies, and emergency procedures), and appropriate ratios of staff to campers (with systematic observation of all staff while on duty, training for supervisors, and specific performance guidelines).
For now, a few introductions…
