Day hikes are available for campers of all ages and provide a memorable out-of-camp experience in our stunning, neighboring mountains.
It’s a Beautiful Day. Let’s Go!
We schedule most of our day trips spontaneously, after a look at both the eastern sky and the barometer and tuning in to early-morning NOAA weather forecasts. At breakfast, for instance, we’ll plan a hike for two groups of our younger boys on Mt Cube (2800 feet) at the head of our valley – and another for two cabins of older boys on Mt. Moosilauke (4800 feet) just to our northeast. After your climb and a leisurely lunch on the summit (perhaps cheese, crackers, salami, sunbutter, apples, and cookies), you and your cabin counselors will hike down and meet one of our professional drivers, enjoying a traditional “dope stop” (a treat at a local store or ice cream shop) before heading back to camp for a refreshing dip in the lake.
