Reed Harrigan: New Head of Buildings & Grounds

It is with great pleasure that we introduce Reed Harrigan as Camp Pemigewassett’s new Head of Buildings and Grounds. When Chris Jacobs stepped down after 9 excellent years in the position, Pemi management wondered how we could ever fill his rather large shoes. How excited we were to learn that Reed was interested in assuming this role and we were delighted to quickly bring him into the fold.

Reed and his family are not new to the camp, of course. Reed has been with us for five summers as bus driver, canoe instructor, special trip leader, and as member of our Buildings and Grounds crew. Reed’s two children have also been part of the Pemi family for a number of years. Sam was a camper for five summers and attended Pemi West in 2012, while Aliza worked in both the kitchen and the office for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Jennifer Harrigan, Reed’s wife and Sam and Aliza’s mom, teaches third grade in the Campton, New Hampshire school system.

When I asked Reed about joining us in a year ’round capacity, he was clear that this was a move he had thought about for quite awhile.

“Working full time at Pemi has always been a goal of mine. Jen and I are so excited to have Pemi become an even greater part of our lives and we look forward to working with and getting to know the extended camp family even better than we already do.”

Well, Reed, we feel the same way. All of us are certain that Camp Pemigewassett is in great hands under your care and we look forward to many, many years with you as a central part of the team!
